Gon Bops Conga 1970s

If you're looking for an authentic and warm vintage percussion sound that breathes the captivating magic of evergreen Mowtown hits and takes you back to the origins of Latin music, look no further. This Gong Bobs masterpiece by Mariano Bobadilla, known as the “Stradivarius of Latin percussion”, represents the absolute pinnacle of conga drums. In fact, it wouldn't be unfair to say that if it weren't for Mariano Bobadilla, there wouldn't be Latin percussion as we know them today.

This particular Conga, in great condition for its age (no structural damage, only some minor surface ware), was made at the original Gong Bops workshop in Los Angeles at the time, when the company was still owned by the family Bobadilla. 

Previous owners include two professional percussionists. For the past years it has served as the "house conga" at a music studio in southern Finland. This means that it has always been professionally cared for and treated accordingly.
