Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul 1959 Reissue R9 VOS Factory Dark Burst 2012

A landmark Gibson Custom Shop creation, this 1959 Reissue R9 in Factory Dark Burst represents a pivotal moment in the Custom Shop's evolution. Limited to just 100 pieces, it was the first production run outside the Collector's Choice series to incorporate Gibson's meticulous measurements of original '59s—including the signature matching top carve. It also marked the debut of Custombucker pickups in production, previously available only by custom order.

Hand-selected premium-figured maple tops showcase the craftsmanship Gibson is known for. The shallow "flat" dish carve was specifically engineered to match the arch of one of the factory's most celebrated original '59 examples. Hand-applied red aniline dye on back, sides, and neck, finished in Gibson Custom's hand-sprayed VOS nitrocellulose for an authentically aged patina.

This example remains virtually unplayed with only minor marks. Includes all original paperwork and case. A rare opportunity to own a pivotal chapter in modern Gibson Custom Shop history.
