Here´s a rare Japanese Valley Arts Tele-style axe with EMGs ready to rock out! Some story behind the VA guitars. The body is semi-hollow construction with mahogany center wood.
Due to such high demand for USA made Valley Arts guitars in Japan, the opportunity arose for a sister line of guitars to be produced in Japan.
Konda Shokai and Asiah Mokko we’re the distributors for M Series guitars, however manufacturing was out sourced to Suzuki Violins, Ornetts-Hi End Guitars and Warmoth USA amongst others during the nine year run of production.
Valley Arts USA also in the beginning supplied paint and some components to help get the line up and running.
For the first few years VA Japan wasn’t able to use the Custom Pro USA logo, so they used the Limited logo on the top end guitars made to the same specs as their American counterparts.
Eventually VA japan was able to you the Custom Pro logo but without the USA at the end of the logo, this was to help stop confusion between the two versions.
Valley Arts Japan held the rights to produce guitars from 1986 to 1995. Even though Samick guitars had completely purchased Valley Arts USA by August 1993 they had no ownership or influence over the Japanese line.
Valley Arts Japan carried on making guitars up until there contract ended in 1995.
