Despite its solid-body appearance, the Roy Smeck guitar features a chambered construction similar to Gretsch's Jet guitar line. This model drew inspiration from Harmony's Stratotone Jupiter, which ranked among the company's premium instruments during the early 1960s. The Roy Smeck shares many specifications with the Jupiter, including dual DeArmond Gold Foil pickups, separate volume and tone controls for each pickup, and a four-position pickup selector switch.

While the Jupiter included an additional blend control that the Roy Smeck lacks, the Roy Smeck compensates with its distinctive pickguard design that evokes imagery of lightning strikes or comic book explosions. Given Roy Smeck's background as a vaudeville performer, visual impact remained a priority for his signature instruments, and this model delivers that theatrical flair admirably. This specific guitar is in excellent condition and includes its original chipboard black & white case. Weight: 2.6 kg
